The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. NCC was first started in 1666 in Germany. The NCC in India was formed with the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was raised on 15 July 1948. The origin of NCC can be traced back to the ‘University Corps’, which was created under the Indian Defence Act 1917, with the objective to make up the shortage of the Army. In 1920, when the Indian Territorial Act was passed, the ‘University Corps’ was replaced by the University Training Corps (UTC). In this College N.C.C was introduced in the year of 1978 under 50 Bengal Regiment. From the beginning to recent times student’s participation is increasing year after year. Several ex-students of this unit join different divisions of Force. Our students regularly participated in prestigious 26th January Republic day parade in New Delhi and West Bengal. By their excellence & determination they set a prestigious platform and receive Honor & pride for this Institution. At present 180 cadets (both male & female) are enrolled in this Unit. At present Capt. Dr. Sukhwinder Kalsi is in the charge for this unit. By her command & leadership this unit achieved lots of new heights. A list of successful N.C.C cadets are listed below
